Albion have named 24 players in their PL squad - but that includes goalkeepers Tom McGill and Carl Rushworth who are out on loan.

Cam Peupion and Ed turns also pad the number.

Given the comprehensiveness of the names in that list, I was a bit surprised to see the omission of Nii Tackie Mensah.

He is listed as an U-21 under Hines-Samuels.

weird why would we list 4 goalkeepers.
are there any players who didnt get shipped out but didnt make the 25? if so what happens? season off, play for u21 as allowed overage player?

Rushworth and McGill are listed as they could potentially be recalled in an emergency. Bournemouth recalled Mark Travers from his loan at Stoke in October last season when they suffered an injury to their first choice keeper.

We don’t have any players who haven’t been named in the squad, but if we did they wouldn’t be able to play in the Premier League. They’d be eligible for the League and FA Cup games though, plus be able to play in Premier League 2 games etc as an overage player.

So Brighton have the biggest Pl and U21/scholars squad of the 20 teams (70 U21 and scholars, although lots of loan)

An the irony: Chelsea have only list 22 squad players!
