Time for the Daily Express coldest winter for 100 years and 3 months of snow to make it's annual appearance. A very mild, wet and windy winter 1-8 odds
That sounds lovely, I do hope it is 62 or 63 at Christmas, hate the snowWhat about Sussex winter of 62, 63...
Then it's only 6 months to its annual 'Scorchio Barbecue Summer with 4 months of record-breaking killer heat' headline, which usually presages a cool, washout, summerTime for the Daily Express coldest winter for 100 years and 3 months of snow to make it's annual appearance. I've seen the movieI've got my beady eye on the Northern Hemisphere snow cover charts like this -> NOAA Northern Hemisphere Snow Cover
When it hits October keep an eye out for increases to Siberian snow cover % as this CAN influence atmospheric conditions including disrupt the polar vortex and lead to sudden stratospheric warming which CAN lead to increased displacement of the vortex and allow cold air to travel to mid latitude areas like us.
FWIW some of my thoughts centre around proxies for previous La Nina years and current conditions might suggest a front loaded winter [Dec - Jan/Feb] but we'll see.
Now if i'd have said something about north atlantic buoy temperatures plummeting well....I've seen the movie

The forecast high here in the Phoenix area for Sunday is 99F - assuming that happens, it will be the first day since May 27 that we don't hit triple digits.I worked a night shift last night (in Leeds) I had to scrape ice off my windscreen at 6:40 am which was nice and refreshing!

Or a Trump on cats & dogs.Get the word 'flumping' in there and I'll be all over it like a tramp on chips
Chilblains. Big swollen painful chilblains. Week after week of wearing wellingtons.I was born in January 62 so I can't claim to remember that. My mum and dad did used to tell me stories though!
Nothing to see for us at this stage. Interestingly they did have a little snow on the Scottish Highlands this week though.I get all excited when I see this thread appear. Like normal, I'm disappointed when I open it.
Unless @Papa Lazarou post, it's not worth reading.
Anti cyclonic gloom. Nothing unusual sadly. Quite likely to also see some temperature inversions as well so expect fog and maybe some 'cooler' nights.Where have the cold winter blue skies gone? We have a high sitting over us. There is no rain anywhere and yet all we have is high grey skies for days on end. No forecast of this changing this week. Odd.
