Maybe someone has. We would never know if it didn’t reach the media.

Come to think of it, wasn’t Dunk approached and he is still with us.

I guess you only get real club loyalty from footballers these days. :jester:
I think if the approach for dunk was serious and not just paper talk he would have been off 100%.

Make no mistake about it Chelsea were in a different ‘league’ to us back then and dunk is a Chelsea fan.

Anyone interested in a 3 keeper rotation?

Thought not.

Another of the thirteen already being pushed out? Couldn’t happen to a nicer chap.

Maybe they are going to regret the 7 year contract they gave him.

Even if a buyer might match the Chelsea salary, (which I strongly doubt), who would want to stitch themselves up on FFP by offering a contract this long.

Nahh. Sanchez is stuck there. They can buy a new keeper though and Robbie can rot in the reserves and contemplate what might have been for his career.

Another one has left for Chelsea now .John Tweedy specialises in wingers . I hate Chelsea .
whilst I am no fan of Chelsea, it has to be remembered that these 13 that have gone to them will have basically funded our transfers for a good couple of years to come, and the transfer window just closed.

At the time it seemed to be a disaster, but looking at our squad now, and that we are in no danger of PSR issues for a few years, the Chelsea raids may well be the thing that moves us to "the next level"

Chelsea are still desperately trying to emulate the Brighton recruitment process.
The man at the top hasn't realised that he is the guy they need to replace more than anyone else. But his investment partners have.

They don’t learn do they! Some more compensation for another person we can easily cope without which is always good.

"John Tweedy, who was the wingers and number 10 role scouting manager at the south coast club" had been at Brighton since March 2023.

So - before Chelsea plastics start saying they have got some vital part of our recruitment machine, he joined after Mitoma, Adingra, Enciso, and Joao Pedro was reported in April '23, so that was in process before he joined.

He was looking at youth for the academy, more than first team.

Talking of wingers, what's happened to Adrian Mazilu?
He's disappeared! No loan deal this season. Not appeared for the U21's this season. Is he injured?

However, he pulled off a major coup 'Tweedy was understood to be instrumental in Brighton signing promising 18-year-old midfielder Josh Robertson from Sunderland back in January.' Now Chelsea can really mess it up with the big boys.
