Anyone interested in Linkin Park reboot with a new female vocalist and drummer follow Chesters death 7 years ago?

Interesting to see how it goes. Alice in Chains came back with a new singer and have done some good stuff and AC/DC seem to have done alright.

Interested absolutely, convinced not yet. Chester's vocal was so distinct that its hard to get that out of your head.

I know what you mean. My first impressions were positive though. She has a bit of grit

Was never really into Linkin Park's nu-metal stuff - but found myself at (what turned out to be) Chester's second-to-last gig, so now have an interest.

Emily seems great. Tries a bit too hard with the shouty stuff though - because early fans expect it, I guess.

Not for me Clive. I just think Chester's voice was unique and we are best left with the memories.

The only time this scenario has really panned out well has been with AC/DC. Not my faves but their career soared.

Got a ticket to see them at the o2.. which is the same venue I last saw them 10 years ago. Really like the new single and looking forward to more of that than the older songs in a way (I know not at the next gig..) . Was mixed emotions listening to Emily, some worked better than others for me. The clips I've seen from the first proper show in LA seemed better than the first reintroduction show though.

Done a Frexit, now in London
The last time I saw them was at the MK Bowl, Jay-Z came on for a cameo and they did the collaboration. I was a huge fan back then and I really wanted to like the reboot but sadly I can't.

Biggest issue for me is that they've replaced Chester with someone who is basically the antithesis of what he stood for.

She's a scientologist, which isn't great for a start and means that she doesn't believe in psychiatry. Replacing someone who went through mental health struggles and ultimately killed themselves with someone who believes you should just tough it up isn't great.

She was also friends with and supported Danny Masterson, even appearing at his hearings.

She's definitely talented, but as a person doesn't seem to be the right fit for what the band stood for.

I was at that LP/Jay-Z gig, and thought it was fantastic. Collision Course is an awesome EP.

In the field of rock, Iron Maiden and Van Halen continued their success after replacing their original singers.

And Genesis.

What?
Faith No More is another.

I saw them with their original guy in front of about 50 people and he was trying to start a fight with most of the audience. A while later I saw them blow a packed Marquee away with Mike Patton. That was some show.

Some of the Female Lead Rock around is brilliant. Sadly this isn't really Linkin Park anymore but will have a listen anyway, doesn't mean its tat.

She has quite a decent voice for it, but it's not really Linkin Park, is it?

I saw Chester's son has been arguing with Mike Shinoda and his wife on public platforms again about all the controversies she has been involved in with accusations of 'ruining his legacy' etc, could get interesting.
