The scuba diving off the west coast of KSA is supposed to be exceptional and there are a few scuba schools on the Gulf of Aqaba (bang opposite Sharm El Sheikh). The other advantage of scuba trips is that you can't hear your misses moan when 20metres under water...

If you've not been to Jeddah yet then it's worth a weekend trip. Much more laid back than Riyadh. Especially Al Belad (it's a Unesco world heritage site).

Are you working for one of the PIF developers?
Hi, I was based in Riyadh for a year, I'm now in Dhahran. I can't mention who I work for but they are a British company...

Funny you mention scuba diving, a guy here was going to teach me but I was so busy it never happened and he had left now. 😪

Jeddah I'm saving for F1 next year.

Petra is wonderful. Dead sea is also a great experience. Red Sea coast is nice. The capital is decent too. Really enjoyed the visit and would highly recommend it, but not sure I would go now with the middle east situation.
