He really does seem to be the sort of guy that is just excellent, wherever he is. Ability, talent and attitude levels above. He was a brilliantly kept secret for so many years but in a way I'm kind of pleased that it's out now and everyone realises what a top player he is. I might be off base here, but it makes me think of Mac Allister. I think of them as being very similar kind of characters/players but Alexis Mac was appreciated at a higher level at a younger age. Pascal has become appreciated at the top level late in the day but he can still have a good few years at Dortmund, before returning to the Albion in whatever capacity he wants!

The comparison is spot on.
A magic combination of skill set, mentality, intelligence, stamina and good up bringing that is actually hard to find. Means they can play an array of positions at any level.
Luckily it seems young Jack is cut from the same rare cloth.

Nothing to do with upbringing, you can have an appalling upbringing and be an incredible person, although I'm not sure anyone on here would know much about PG's upbringing.

Brilliantly put, 100% agree.

I'm happy for him, he's earned and deserves his success. But I wonder what his career would look like if Brighton hadn't made the move for him.

With his attitude, intelligence and skill, he would have certainly made his name somewhere else, maybe still in the Bundesliga.

We made our move at the right moment, and he came to us while he was still relatively unknown.

Yup most likely would have made a career out of playing in good German teams. Not sure he would have reached Bayern or Dortmund though.
