Some great passages of one-touch football there. Bodes well.

They've gone under the radar, but Villa's academy has been producing some fantastic young players in recent years. Up there with the best of them.
In this case though Rogers didn’t come through their system, he came up through the ranks at West Brom and Man City.

Villa signed him last season from Middlesbrough. Contrary to what the Palace goons think, he along with Joao Pedro was the best signing from the Championship. In fact with Alex Scott going from Bristol City to Bournemouth, Wharton wasn’t even in the top 3.

Rogers is the real deal though, great talent.

I know Rogers didn't move directly from WBA to Aston Villa, but over recent years Villa have ransacked the Baggies' academy of most of their top talent (staff as well as players).

I very often agree with your analysis of football, but think you're wildly off track on Wharton. He's some player which is why he got called up for the Euros, and is better than Scott. Rogers has seized the mantle and looks a great player, and we all know about JP.
