He’s definitely got something in the pipeline.

Stories on line suggest that Rangers are missing out.Having a medical at Hull. Poor lad
More to the point, what is it with some of our fans (not aiming this at you specifically) and Alzate? A bog average squad midfielder who played a few games and wasn't good enough to hold down a place. Released at the end of his contract like so many others who weren't good enough. Free. Nada. Nothing. Couldn't get a bite. Good luck to the fella if he can build a career at Hull or anywhere else, but it's time to let it go. If he turns out to be another Gyokeres, I'll be delighted if someone bounces this post, but I suspect he'll have a good career as a Championship player earning a decent wage for the rest of his days. Or go abroad. What is it with Hull and Brighton loanees and former players? Even though they've binned off Aaron Connolly, they'll still have four Brighton/ex-Brighton players on the books this season!
Before you ask - Rushworth on loan, Alzate (assuming this deal goes through), Ryan Longman and James Furlong.
I’m no expert in how agents get paid but I would guess it’s something like this ?
Higher player wages means more of a commission?
A cut of the signing on fee ?
Agent commanding a too higher fee that the buying club are prepared to pay ?
Or a combination of all three meaning the agent is looking out for his own interests as well as the player ?
Those I know (well, those who has given a real answer when I've asked..) in Sweden has said they take 10% of player income. No idea if its the same globally, I'm sure there are those who take more or less.
Free transfers often means improved deals/signing bonuses thanks to the money the club is saving, so agents are rather often rather happy about it. It sucks a little bit for the client though to have that kind of insecurity. Most players are not millionaires and many want job security over a hypothetical big paycheck somewhere.
In the case of Steven Alzate it is a somewhat brave call to leave it late, but his CV is good enough, he doesn't need to worry. Once the transfer window closes, a small number of free transfers become quite desired and he's likely in that group. Expect to see him in Benelux or Turkey or something.
We always get a bit misty eyed over unfulfilled promise. Alzate was alongside Bissouma in an early dismantling of Newcastle that showed what Potter's team could become and even looked like the senior partner that day. A bit of bad luck with injuries and not being able to find a specific role seemed to change his path. Some glass half full types still see a possiblity of him proving himself as the next £50-£100m midfielder off the rank, but football is fleeting and players progress differently. The biggest natural talents are not always the biggest successes. It didn't work out, but he'll certainly be remembered for scoring the winner, his first league goal for us, in our first win at Anfield in 40 years. Good luck to him.More to the point, what is it with some of our fans (not aiming this at you specifically) and Alzate? He’s just signed for HullMaybe he could play for Seattle Sounders or Portland Timbers. At the moment Inter Miami is out of the question.

He has lots of ability, but he is low on football intelligence, he can be good in a limited role.Astonished how high some people rate this guy because of a couple of good games.
He was bang average. Championship is about right. Good luck to him.
I think the issue is that the good games were very good, but I have to admit that he simply wasn't as consistent as some. I was once talking to TB (pardon the namedrop) at one of the annual awards dinners and raving about Alzate's performance in the central midfield role at home to Chelsea and TB pointed out that he's kept his place away to Leicester and been taken off at half time. And he was right, of course.Astonished how high some people rate this guy because of a couple of good games.
