Would Fabian Hurzeler be a good replacement for RDZ?

Yup. Bang to rights. I knew what I was doing.

I ain't gonna be a fanny about and moan about the mods. You don't get the credit you deserve.

Ignoring this thread now.
Two weeks this time. Will be a lot longer if there’s a third case.

Just cut it out please.

Is this a sneak preview of Hurzeler ball?

It highlights how important Hinshelwood was when he moved to play mainly as an inverted full-back once Milner went off injured at Arsenal,
Despite the problems JH had with Saka in the first 20 minutes he ended up playing a very prominent role for FH.
I think we are going to see JH start a lot more games than many people are expecting. (look away @dwayne)

He might not be a LB but it shows how much the club/Hurzeler rate his tactical intelligence, at only 19, for him to be entrusted with such a bold instruction given those opening 15 minutes vs Saka as you mention.

I remember RDZ saying he was the closest thing we had to a Pascal Gross successor in terms of his footballing brain and we’re already seeing evidence as to why such as the above.

Yep. Lallana reportedly said JH has more football intelligence than any player he’s ever worked with……….

Have you got a link to that at all? That's an incredible claim, given that JH is so young and Adam has worked with a lot of top footballers.

I hadn’t heard the Lallana quote, but I’d heard stories that JH’s family background had given him an amazing footballing education. I remember that match at Forest last season when JH came on as a first half sub. He was roasted several times and had a tough time early on. But he adapted amazingly quickly - and ended up popping up all over the pitch. Seemed incredibly mature and unfazed.

Defeat to Ipswich then, to seal the MoTM curse!

Seriously though, that's one hell of an achievement. New country and league, young guy and he's hit the ground running. The first of many of these awards, hopefully (as Brighton manager!).

But surely if you win Manager of the Month, the only way not to have a dip after is to win Manager of the Month again?

And given that winning MOTM requires a near perfect record within that month, you would have to have a near perfect record for the whole season to not have a "dip"?

Self fulfilling prophecy. The award is for an exceptional month, but every other month can't also be exceptional.

Daniel Kahneman has a whole section on reversion to mean in his book thinking fast and slow. In America it's called the sports Illustrated cover curse/
