Hopefully Beadle will get the shirt, Trafford has stagnated and may not even be first choice for Burnley this season.

Hinshelwood is an incredible talent, he'll pick up a few appearances for the under-21s but he'll be in the full squad by the end of the season.

Pleased for Hinsh but strange. Assume FA have scouts watch young players and Hinsh albeit out of position has had two poor games so what has impressed them and where are they going to play him. In a side dominating possesion he filled in well at RB last season. This was because we spent most of games that we were going forward and he was often able to fill his more favoured mid fill roll. Would be odd if was selected for U21s at FB but perhaps more so in MF because very few of us have seen him play there.
It really isn’t

England scouts for the youth teams tour academies, they don’t just pop along to Premier League matches - although Southgate saw him play a excellent game at the Amex last season when he came to watch Dunky and I said to my mate at that match when we saw Southgate on the screen, it wouldn’t be long before Hinshelwood was called up to the U21s and seniors at some point down the road.

That‘s really by the by, Hinshelwood has already been capped for the England youth teams.

He was playing for the U18s at the age of 17 in 2023 (6 friendlies) and played 5 friendlies and 3 UEFA Euros for the U19 qualifiers. He was likely to be called up again to the England U19 friendlies in March 2024 but would had to have bailed out as he’d broken his foot.

He’s been watched by England scouts for several years. It was only a matter of time before he moved up to the next level.

Eh?

It was reported on February 12 2024 that he was out for at least three months after he had undergone foot surgery.

The England U-19 squad for the March friendlies wasn't announced until March 15 2024.

Mad really. Both he and Rushworth genuinely seem like two of possibly three or four young keepers next in line for England.
