It's insane really, isn't it? The men in the white coats woulda been along if you'd told someone this during half-time at Hereford.

They would have been, they really would. Frankly though you could probably have called them if someone had suggested it after our first couple of seasons in the Prem. Remember those first couple of transfer windows when we were desparate for a striker? NSC once had a meltdown because we hadn't signed a Spurs reserve. Some people even pined after the Championship as it was assumed every season in the PL would be an attritional struggle, and if we played a Big Six team realistically the best result we could hope for was to avoid a thrashing.

Still can't fully grasp it.

it may be right as i think west ham spent more but must have made more on player sales to back it up. could be wrong though.

I am wrong.
Think it means spend minus income. Chelsea were the biggest spenders.

And it really wasn't *that* long ago when we were playing at a largely uncovered 7k capacity athletics stadium with portacabins for dressing rooms.
