[Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

I think that's the point. I couldn't hate Palace, they are a club with proper fans. The rivalry is a bit of pantomime fun.

Like us, they're fans that choose to support their local club rather than plastic wankers, so we have one thing in common. But the rivalry is the same as other rivalries. While some of those will have started over religion or competing for work, that's all a long time ago and now the fans just want success at the expense of their rivals the same as us.

Palace have some brilliant fixtures in September.

Can they firstly defeat a very weak Leicester or will Buonanotte pull their pants down again?

A routine win against QPR in the cup is a given.

Then it’s Man Utd and Everton. They’d have seen how we crushed both sides so will be aiming for six points.

Let’s see if they can deliver those 9 points and a cup win.

Of course they will. They have the core of the England team in their starting 11.

It's inevitable

Quite, we are much more like Palace than the teams we are both trying to finish above, which is a tough call for both of us. The Palace rivalry really is only pantomime now imo. But it can be bloody great pantomime for both of us after a win or a late draw.

Stand outs for me at Selhurst recently were “why did you let it bounce?” and Knocky’s world class goal

Guehi at fault for another goal - the lucky Magpies have dodged an expensive bullet there. And Palace have lost the chance of a decent payout - with frequent mistakes and his contract running down £65m will be the stuff of dreams.
Having only seen the goal on TV , how was that Guehi’s fault ? It looks just a good quick counter attack ?

The rivalry is not a natural one that comes from how close the teams are, both teams had rivals before this one and a lot of palace fans still view Charlton as our rivals.

I always think it was more of an Alison v Mullery rivalry that during the 70s was just a reason for a scrap and caries on now in a more yar boo sucks sort of way. With no one under 50 knowing why it started.

Oh Tim, it 3 games played, I might agree with your spending power but not the other two points, not until the end of the season as we all saw what happened last season.
Ah, @loz I think that's my point, maybe we all (football fans) should enjoy the good times as you don't know how long they'll last. Look at Bolton, Charlton, Leeds, Preston, Notts County, the list is endless, clubs that have had the good times and are now in the doldrums.

Three games gone, or not, I'm loving this and, yes, it may not last, and that's why it's important to enjoy the moment!

Blimey - and you're our resident sensible Palace fan!

It is a terrible bit of defending - caught out of position, and then seemingly unaware of the player who jogs past him to score. By all means support your players, but accept their failings! (Lewis Dunk, btw, was very much at fault for the goal we conceded on Saturday).

My sons are under 50, they hate Palace, and I have explained when and why the rivalry started, because I am a good parent.😁
Yeah my kids have gone since small, even when we lived in Liverpool they were strutting about in Brighton shirts. They are both in their early twenties. They are more upset than me now if we lose to palace. Although thankfully that now seems rare.

As has been mentioned many times my eldest Son and Daughter are Palace fans, my two youngest Sons have had Albion season tickets since we arrived at The Amex and I've held one since returning to the UK in '00. My parenting skills are clearly woeful and inadequate but we have some fabulous footballing get togethers! #UTA
