Since the mid 90's he's up there with Danny Cullip and Paul McCarthy as one of my favourite CBs who aren't Lewis Dunk.

I personally loved Upson, also Dunk and Duffy were the best Albion duo of recent time. But it’s your list.

We wouldn't have had a JP at Chump level Duffy was spot on at the time. . . . . JPVH is the new van Dijk . . . He may well end up replacing him for next season, if the price is right.

He's kicked on sensationally in the last 12-18 months, it's been glorious to see. He was legitimately behind Colwill when we had him, and it doesn't feel like that long ago that JPvH's name on the team sheet would make me feel a bit nervy. Now it's more like "we'll be alright, Van Hecke's playing" whoever our opponent is.
