The dull part of the south coast
Three games in, two wins and one draw, seven points from nine and second in the table. Would anyone have predicted that a few weeks ago? I had misgivings about us getting anything at Everton - the Dyche syndrome would strike again. Man Utd and Arsenal, maybe a point for each game? But no, FAB and the boys have blown that pre-season pessimism out of the water. With our unbelievable transfer business completed we are now looking to be top six candidates. Whether that comes to fruition or not only time will tell. In the meantime I am enjoying the exhilarating ride - something that I would not have envisaged at the end of last season. :ascarf:

Judging by investment in players this season, I'd say TB is aiming considerably higher than that
Maybe longer term - but I for one would be delighted with the conference. In hindsight I'd rather have finished 7th. in 2022-23 and had a go at the Conference as our first introduction to Europe - although we got through the group stage, in many ways the Europa felt like a step too far at that point in our history.
Europe or no Europe, IMHO top ten would be a good season.

One point ahead of the same time last year. WWL and this year WWD, against arguably more difficult teams this year...
Next 2 home games against teams we should(on paper) beat. Win them before trip to Chelsea and it'll be a very good start! Next 2 are 1s we'd normally drop points in so hoping that under Fab we'll win both.

I do the Seagulls Prediction League with a couple of notable posters on here and predicted three defeats

Me: I don't like this new European format. It's all about money and too many games
Other: Brighton have got a decent squad this year. Europe isn't beyond possible.

from the fixture list, new manager, wouldn't have been unhappy with 2 points. there'd be plenty of fair reasons, bedding in tactics, players not upto speed, Everton anti-football, etc. instead we have a great start, creates positive energy in the squad which is probably the difference between mid-table and european finish (with fit players).

Top six is a bit of a stretch....I'd settle for seventh and Europa Conference
I’m guessing it’s down to the Europe coefficiency thing again as to whether 8th could sneak in? Providing cups are won by side in top 7 of course. Can anyone confirm please?
