I may be old fashioned here, every youngster in football has to wait for a first team chance and then grab that opportunity and perform.Absolutely correct. We don't want Rushworth and Beadle here getting splinters because they only get to play 6 Premier League games a season. They need sustained exposure to the professional game.
We are actually very lucky to have Jason Steele - he is a well regard professional who is old enough to know he's never going to be first choice at a Premier League club, but does exactly what is asked of him, knowing that he will get occasional games.
It's not good news when he has to play, but it's a lot better than having a pissed off talented youngster getting frustrated at getting no game time.
Adding the situation of an on-holiday goalkeeper getting a 6-week injury to the fact that the transfer window closes the night before our 3rd fixture suggests that this may not be a completely improbable scenario.I hope Bart isn’t suffering from an acute bout of “WantsToGoToManUtditis”
This. It’s a blow but Rushworth can cover the first month and then be loaned out on deadline day if that’s the clubs plan.
Bart's out until after the Man Utd home game apparently...

This to, Steele is alright at passing out shit at the saving part which is fairly important in that position.This.
Steele is shit end off. Let's give Rushworth a run-out
My hunch too.Adding the situation of an on-holiday goalkeeper getting a 6-week injury to the fact that the transfer window closes the night before our 3rd fixture suggests that this may not be a completely improbable scenario.
So you think the club is faking Barts injury for six weeks so that United won't buy him? Or am I reading it wrong? Because that is a completely improbable scenario.Adding the situation of an on-holiday goalkeeper getting a 6-week injury to the fact that the transfer window closes the night before our 3rd fixture suggests that this may not be a completely improbable scenario.
To be fair 'alright' is a bit of an understatement. He's up there with allison and Ederson passing wiseMy hunch too.
However, it would need to be a hell of an offer to let him go now.
I guess you could say position/trajectory of the shot rather than the position of the player shooting. Generally its a way to measure goalie quality. What is a Post-Shot Expected Goal as opposed to just your bog standard xG?
All these obscure x stats go straight over my head.
Logically, post-shot expected goals would mean whether you expect the ball to go in the net after you've already seen it not go in the net. What is a Post-Shot Expected Goal as opposed to just your bog standard xG?

It’s kind of the reverse of Xg……..so Bart was ‘expected’ to concede 2.4 goals from the shots he faced (Arsenal had an xg of 2.42).What is a Post-Shot Expected Goal as opposed to just your bog standard xG?

Money is not a problem. Having 20 players fighting for ~4 roles is a bit of a problem though. Something needs to go.
First season in the second division of Dutch cricket and we've survived comfortably. Kampong our city rivals have basically all but won the league, only losing once to us meaning we took the Utrechtse Ashes. A couple of our overseas boys have now left for the season but our leading run scorer has stayed. He's behind Dutch captain Scott Edwards and Dutch opener Max O'Dowd in runs scored.
Some very decent overseas players in our league and the local boys here have also done a great job.

I’d assumed it’s exactly what it says - the expected goals (immediately) after the ball leaves the attacking player’s foot. It’s kind of the reverse of Xg……..so Bart was ‘expected’ to concede 2.4 goals from the shots he faced (Arsenal had an xg of 2.42).
Hang on though, what about shots off target? You can't attribute anything to the keeper if the strikers keep missing? It’s kind of the reverse of Xg……..so Bart was ‘expected’ to concede 2.4 goals from the shots he faced (Arsenal had an xg of 2.42).
