Should have 'gone' for what? Kicking the ball away is only a yellow. His yellow then came for dissent late on, which he wouldn't have done if he'd been on a yellow already.

Looking at the opinions of neutrals on social media, most of them think that it should not have been a red for Rice.
Perhaps those of us that think it was a 'definite red' have our blue & white tinted specs too firmly on.
I'll be honest, I do think it was a little harsh and would probably be fuming if our player got sent off for that.

Decent point that, disagree the game changed with the sending off, I thought it changed when Ayari came on for Milner. We pushed our game up a few yards and stopped their momentum.

Well, that was a decent result. I only had the radio so it is hard to judge but it seemed a lively game and we matched them well. For a couple of hours at least…. We are top of the league !

He could have been booked for the first half kicking the ball away. However Arteta is an idiot as he claimed he'd have been sent off. He's almost certainly wouldn't as he'd have been more careful in his reactions afterwards and would have been unlikely to have received a yellow at all late on.
