Birmingham have signed Jay Stansfield from Fulham for 12 million in league 1!

No wonder pubs think they can get away with charging £7 a pint.

Mental.

A league 1 record!

Didn’t we once break that record by signing both Nicky Bisset for £115k and Robert Codnor for £115k from Barnet ??

Or was it a record for transfer fees paid by a league club for non league players ?

But back on topic- Jay Stansfield £12 million WTF ??
If they’ve got that kind of money sloshing about, We should have rinsed them for more than the £500k they paid for Leonard 🤦🏻‍♂️

I think the latter. We spent even more on a 3rd signing, maybe £250k - possibly Larry May? It did feel like we were making an effort that year.

They were helped by the money they saved mugging off Brighton for Marc Leonard!

Beating the previous L1 record of £3.5m set on the 24th July 2024 by Birmingham City.

That record had beaten the previous record of £3m which had been set on the 19th July by… Birmingham City
Anyone would think they are trying to buy their way out of the division.

Let's see how well it's going....

Ah yes. Sandwiched between the might of Wrexham and, er, Lincoln.
