It’s fascinating the amount of discussion this tour has generated. I’m not judging, it’s objectively interesting.

A band that were hugely successful and that people still enjoy are going on tour again.

Attendance is not compulsory and people will be spending their own money to purchase tickets.

If it’s not your cup of tea, I’d advise not going.

I agree it is interesting, although your slightly dismissive last couple of sentences seem at odds with your observation that the response and discussion has been massive.

Not going will not diminish one's expose to the Oasis reunion phenomenon. I won't be going but as you mention I am finding the whole thing interesting, as is my 19 year old. Even here is Australia, which I imagine has a fraction of the UKs current obsession.

Fair point 👍

Best way of announcing the reunion iwould have been for Noel and Bonehead to join Liam on stage at Leeds or Reading as a surprise instead of their social media team making some lame announcement online - Rock and Roll ? Yeah right 😡

Seems my £10 spend back in 1994 was a relative bargain. I even bumped into Gary Hart and Kerry Mayo.

The gig in the Fleece in Bristol earlier that year was only a fiver!

Oh, nicely reigniting the ‘who bothers with support bands’ discussion there. What were Ride like? I only ever saw them once back in t’day, definitely a band I wish I’d seen a few times more.

I remain skeptical of how many actual members of Oasis will be involved too. Surely Bonehead at a minimum is required?
I gather Bonehead will be there.

Personally I'm happy to see Gem Archer there given he was an official member for about 10years or so, probably longer than Bonehead now that I think about it. There'll be some lucky people who went to Oasis gigs when Noel had pissed off mid-tour who will have seen them with him as the only guitarist.

Beyond that, I can't honestly claim to care who plays bass at an Oasis gig. I'm not convinced Guigsy is actually audible on any of the first three albums anyway. :lolol:

And they rattled through so many drummers I'm not all that fussed on that front either. If we're basically talking High Flying Birds plus Liam plus Bonehead, then that's the same drummer they had at the time they broke up.

Ride were and still are a fantastic live band. Their most recent album is, in my opinion, the best of the three from their comeback. Taking my son to see them in a few weeks.

Liam has been smashing it as a solo artist - selling out Knebworth singing Oasis songs - can’t really see what benefit bringing Noel back in to play guitar brings - the massive game changer would be if they release new material as Oasis
I think I speak for many people (perhaps not all, but plenty) when I say that I think new Oasis music would be a bad idea.

Again, to clarify, this isn't a slagging off - more just that I don't think it would really work in 2024. Could be wrong though.

My thought too, I was hoping Liam was going to bring his Definately Maybe show down under.

Adding Noel to the bill will add a ton of cash to the ticket price, a ton of knobeads to the crowd (in a larger and shitter venue) and of course a extra knobhead on stage.

If it's Liam and Noel and yer granny on bongos, it's Oasis

Not much of an endorsement from the Guardian of the Gallager Brothers reunion concert plans I am afraid to say  .

Read that yesterday. Tosser. Appreciate he is entitled to his opinions, but its typical stuck up tosh like this that gets printed in the Guardian, which pisses me off. He is obviously someone quite far left who doesn’t accept other people’s opinions. Whilst they have said daft things, I like the fact they’re opinionated and express their views or say stupid things, makes them better than the wet wipes you get in music today who just shut anyone down for not agreeing with them.

Sorry, ranting there but it really gets my goat.

I was at one of those shows. Bootleg Beatles were the support band on the night I went. I believe there was a different act the other night. Cant recall who though.
