Gods country fortnightly
I'm amazed how the pundits are universally praising everything BHAFC at the mo, with no hint of potential short-comings. It's almost as if they haven't actually watched our games - just the MotD highlights....
I'd rather they weren't highlighted TBH

Everton …. we closed off the Harrison route.
Manure …. offside trap effective & their blunder.
Tonight …. our B team got away with conceding a fair few. Lamptey and others were bloody awful.

Playing Hinshelwood at LB and/or Lamptey at RB on Saturday will see a spanking. Time to play specialists who are quality.
But Barco has gone!

We haven't actually played against anyone good yet...
Fair point, well made

at least not 'better than us'

I thought Manure was a litmus test, they're on a par I suppose.

Arse were lucky V Vile-a but should prove a cut above our current best.

Other teams haven't worked out FH's style and tactics yet. I trust Fabian because Tony Bloom does and I trust Bloom 100%

It was around 3 metres offside. The defenders didn’t seem that bothered as they knew it was.

I hate the way we let play continue when players are so far offside anyone can see it. That Everton offside, however, changed the game to an extent. The deflation on McNeils face and the crowd that they couldn't even score an open goal was the beginning of the end of that game.

Agree with the OP. We've been a bit lucky to concede just the one. Rank bad finishing by Everton, Zirkzee's knee, Crawley being pub and Man united having no forwards and one that is always offside have all contributed. Arsenal won't be so profligate.

You see, this is what gets to me. Everyone understands that they must keep flag down when the decision is a very close one but it seems to me they are letting more and more obvious calls (such as the one you are highlighting) go on. It seems as if they are so petrified of making a wrong call that they are not making any at all!

This also is spilling over to their other roles, already this season i have seen several linesmen keep their arms down when a ball has gone over the sideline and wait until the ref signals before rapidly agreeing with him. Also fouls are occurring almost right in front of them and they still do not flag. Soon their only role will be to step on the pitch and see if the edge of a ball is over the quadrant at corner kicks!

The Albion faithful had their own back on the one in front of the west stand last night when after missing several calls due to poor positioning they gave him a round of applause and ironic cheers when he finally put his flag up.:):)

In answer to the OP. There has been quite a bit of luck which is why FH has been happy albeit with some criticism of our games so far. Luck and of course planning, he has stated on a few occasions now that a clean sheet is so important.

Three competitive games for Super Fab now and one goal conceded.

How on earth has that happened? I’m more nervous than an EDL rioter in a courtroom when the other team gets the ball this season, yet three games against very different opposition would suggest that the mutterings we’d concede less this season are spot on.

What’s the secret NSC sages?
We’ve got lucky sure but i think it’s important to remember we have 2 very good and 2 solid CBs, 2 top level keepers and loads of quick fullbacks who’ve been able to get back into position when the opposition counter. A lot of high risk De Zerbi ball had us thinking the defence wasn’t good but his tactics led to there constantly being overloads on our defenders.
We do have a good, above average defence.
