I see the 'bedwetting' has started early this season!

Don't get me wrong, I feel for the guy - especially if he's out for a long period of time - but let's get some perspective, FFS! It's a squad game and there is a very decent squad there. The club has shown it knows what it's doing and I would imagine there would be a contingency plan for every situation, including injuries to each individual players.

Yes, it's clearly a shame that it happened to MOR so soon - and it was a horrendous tackle - but let's just wait for some actual factual information, eh?

Will this injury scupper WBG to Napoli. I don't want MOR out for long but imo I believe Gilmour still has alot to offer. Mahoney looks a strong lad and capable of learning quickly. Some big clubs looking for strikers, might be the right time to put a price on Evan and see what fishing rods want to bite! Just an opinion and not to every one's liking I would imagine. We have an extraordinary strong squad at present and for me he doesn't excite me as much as Enciso and Sarimento. Get money for Evan now as he may not come back as we hope he would.

O'Riley gets injured and O'Mahoney gets a goal against L1 opposition so let's sell Ferguson? Ok, mate

We have to if billy goes.

Wieffer is an unknown quality and hasn't set the world alight yet.

Milner runs around a lot but is pretty useless.

Baleba is very inconsistent and has no structure to his play.

Hinshelwood...not convinced and certainly not ready to start there.

Our centre mid options are already looking questionable with O'Riley if we are talking top 6, without him, I don't even want to think about it. We've lost too many amazing centre mids over the last few years it's hurting us.

As much as it pains me to ask the question but is there anyone we can loan from Chelsea ?
It should pain you - that's an AWFUL question to ask. At least have a target in mind if you're going to throw out a random and desparate suggestion :lolol:

Blimey (O'Riley). Are you always this chirpy? You are doing a bit of a disservice to three (OK, 2.8 with Milner) very useful players there.

I am clinging to the hope that watching the physio manipulating his ankle, he didn't seem think it was bad and it seemed to be O'Riley who wanted to come off. Looked at the time that it was just a very painful impact injury but movement of the joint was fine. Based purely on reading the body language of the physio and zero medical knowledge. We can but hope

If they thought it was ligament damage or a break surely they'd have taken him off on a stretcher, rather than assist him to hobble off?

Any idea when we're likely to hear (ie, when do we usually hear, I can't remember)?

I assume he'll bit in for a scan first thing this morning, so I assume they'll know soon?

This is a setback for sure and a hard one to take. However we have to trust in the squad and hurzeler. Yes it seemed he was going to be a starter for us but we can't dwell on what the situation could have been, we have to focus on solutions. I have every faith in hurzeler being the right person to figure this out.

Yes - my thoughts at the time. The physio was working quite hard on it - which would be unusual if they suspected something too bad. Let's hope.

O'Riley couldn't put any weight on the leg, and was clearly distressed. It looked to me like he was holding back the tears.
Hopefully it's something like a broken metatarsal and he's put in a moon boot and only misses about 6 weeks. Rather than severe ligament damage which would likely mean he was missing for far longer.
Or better still, it's severe bruising and we see him after the international break, although based on the distress he was in this seems unlikely.

At worst he will be out for half the season, but at least come January we'll have Diego Gomez coming in that could soften the blow, if the injury was worse than we fear.
Indeed. The club will have the info sooner than us ( and may not broadcast it until after the window shuts ). Gomez seems to be coming in January, it's a question of how many of the 4 months before then will O'Riley be injured.

If it's bad and means extra transfer business we'll keep it confidential until Saturday morning and all we'll get is vague info about needing to wait until any swelling goes down or similar.
