Ah but he did nail her when she was at her best !

I think he may well be remembered more for the good grace he showed during his passing . I personally can forgive him anything as a thanks for the 1-5 in Munich. RIP Sven.

Really sad news. I met him in Sweden in 2015 when he was managing a Chinese team. He loved football and he would talk forever about England and it felt like he was the most gutted of anyone that he never won anything with us. Portugal 2004 was his biggest regret.

Also bought me a beer and being 18 at the time in Sweden where £7 a pint was normal, it was a grand gesture.

I think the Sven years were when England expectation reached fever pitch. We thought we had the manager and the squad, but it sadly not to be.

Sven was a gentleman, he achieved much, he travelled the world, his taste in women ran from Scandi cool Ulrika to hot-bloooded Latin Nancy dell' Olio, and more besides.

RIP Sven.

Still remember that 1-5. I was the only Brit in a bar full of Germans in Spain with an Australian mate who didn't watch football and kept on referring to the ref as Umpire. We were pissed before the game kicked off. Loud raucous times :clap:

Was never a big fan of him as England manager but I get the impression that he was a well liked and respected man. RIP

VERY brave and philosophical in his handling of his diagnosis it seems too.

Well she was born at 18 minutes past midnight on the 1st of September, I was sure the match was before she was born but it must have been after….in fairness it was a while ago, and I did have other things on my mind :lolol:
