[NSC] Toilet trained children.

On the JV/TD programme today and often been in the MSM for while, sure we have sent our kids to a nursery with nappies provided, but just is what is going on ? Reception class 4+ and 5/6 yo not toilet trained. Open to you.

Indeed.

In addition, the pandemic was in March 2020, i.e. 4 years 5 months ago. So it might explain problems in children of that age, i.e in reception class, but would it explain the same phenomenon in older children of 5/6 the OP refers to?

That isn't to say the pandemic hasn't had a profound hitherto unseen effect on young children of course.

For the vast majority of children not potty trained before school, it is the parents who are the problem, not the children!
In the same way, I don't think it is the fault of the dogs which crap on my lawn, but rather their owners.

Of course it's the parents. I'm not blaming the children!

I'm just trying to be precise over the timelines here. The pandemic affected us all. Profoundly. In ways that are only just beginning to emerge.

This is why it always amuses me when oldies moan about the generation(s) below.
A little more introspection about how their generation might have done a better job raising the next and providing the environment for them to flourish might be in order...

The issue isn't with special needs children, its children that have no physical or mental difficulties, they just haven't been toilet trained. Parents are sending 4,5,6 year olds to school in nappies, and expect the school to change them when required. Unbelievable really. (Sister was a TA, and confirms this is a growing issue)

There are some interesting threads and some very good posters.

They just seemed to have been significantly over-run by immature children of late.
