If we thought the Undav saga was painful, imagine Barco has a wonderful season at Sevilla.

As a young Argentine with limited English, do we really think little old Brighton has more draw than multiple Europa League champions and Spanish giants Sevilla? He'll be pushing to stay on there, that's my worry about this.

If they're happy to stump up the 65 million quid, they can keep him as long as we get a sell-on clause.

Think Sevilla loan would be good for Barco. Should get enough minutes to develop. They've just let Marcos Acuna leave on a free to River Plate to get rid of his high wages and only have Adria Pedrosa who is good going forward but liability defensively. So from that perspective a bit surprising they're looking at Barco who is a similar profile and not trying to sign a more defensively sound LB. Although tbf I believe their defensive struggles are mostly down to CBs and Garcia Pimienta likes attacking FBs. And I've also read some comments from Sevilla fans few weeks ago that Pimi doesn't rate Pedrosa too much (obviously had no other option but to play him as they were looking to offload Acuna though). So if that's true then Barco should become a starter sooner or later.

They also have problems to register new players so will only look for loans and free agents. Also seen them linked to Marcos Alonso but at this point he's arguably semi-retired (has barely played for Barca last season) and would probably still have high wage demands.

Wouldn't worry too much about this. Sevilla is not in a position to invest any serious money in players and also far from guaranteed to qualify to play in European competitions next year (they're out of Europe this season too).

Maybe things will improve a bit for them until next year but I have hard time seeing them pay even 10m which I'm sure wouldn't be nowhere close to Brighton's valuation of Barco. It's more likely other PL clubs would come knocking on your doors if he has a good loan spell but that would've probably happened anyway.

Just as an example Sevilla had Boubakary Soumare on loan from Leicester last season with a €15m buy option and couldn't buy him despite being their best midfielder. Now they've signed Sambi Lokonga from Arsenal on a similar loan deal and doubt they'll buy him permanently either. 10-15m means nothing for PL clubs but is a significant money for most La Liga clubs.

Yeah, I've made that point a couple of times on this thread. I expect Pervis to be first choice LB but Ferdi offers cover, in which case Veltman/Hinsh/Lamptey fill in on the right.

I think it's a very sensible move. Of course the player has rich potential but from what I've seen of him is a bit lightweight and gives away possession a bit too much. EPL such an unforgiving place for such a player. When we saw Facundo have a good game the other night, this is the plan working. When he has good games in Spain, we should be similarly happy that he is making good progress. Undav? Again worked out very well for us

Hope it's not the case that Pervis is just very good in a team on a crest of a wave who dominate possession and are spearing into 6th place, but less good in a team under pressure who are being targeted down the wings. Time will tell

He was targeted last year but do feel that he was playing whilst injured. We’ll see this coming season.

I dont see loaning out fullbacks as a great idea, we are a few inuries/suspensions away from a crisis in defence. That said he wasnt picked for the Everton match so I guess isnt viewed that well by the new manager.

This has been a crazy window so wouldn’t be surprised if he was being loaned out so we could borrow Chilwell for the season.
