Except if he 'fell' because his leg slid along on top of Dunk's, he would just have slid sort of forwards - leg/body first in the direction he and Dunk were travelling. Instead he stopped then collapsed as if shot. Quite comical. As soon as I saw it, I thought 'Dive' - just by the way his body moved.

The more you look at it, the attempt to cheat was laughable. At 1:29 his right leg/foot unnaturally 'goes looking' for Dunk's left foot And misses. Calvert then collapses to the ground in an embarrassing manner.



Evertonians on grandoldteam are slamming him. Pondering why he didn't stay on his feet for an attempt on goal.

Dyche is a dinosaur of the highest order, and we all knew EXACTLY what he was going to say in his post-match interview, well before he said it. His teams play a woeful brand of anti-football that can be "effective" but at the expense of pretty much any entertainment value. Despite EFC's financial difficulties, their resources are huge - certainly sufficient to fund the acquisition of decent, skilful players who are comfortable with the ball at their feet. And, in fact, their team DOES possess some such players - but Dyche resolutely refuses to coach them. It's all about long-ball, get-it-in-the-mixer, feed-off-the-knock-downs, blood-and-thunder football. Seemingly their only tactic on Saturday was to get it to Harrison and see what happens (not necessarily a bad tactic in its own right.....but surely there needed to be a few other moves??!!)

Leon whatshisface on Sky watched it several times and still thought it could be a penalty. The furthest in his Everton blinkered view he conceded was that it was be 50:50.

Surely there isn't anyone with any credibility who wants to see penalties given for incidents like that on Saturday. The bar for a foul has to be set higher with a greater degree of tolerance for the physical aspect of the game. I don't necessarily blame the referee as he gets one chance to view, so as someone who dislikes VAR, well done the VAR process (on this occasion).

Out of interest, BHA Vs Burnley with Dyche in charge, 4 wins, 8 draws and 3 losses, so it's a total myth that we always lose to Dyche. I think the feeling is so strong when we lose to his awful brand of dinosaur football, that it perhaps overemphasises his 'success'.

What he missed out was the discussion about the bar indeed being hurdled, however high it was.

He actually said "incredibly high bar" in his pathetic post-match interview, which is obviously a figment of his warped imagination. I also noted that he never at any point, to my recollection, actually said it was a penalty.

No, as his foot slid forward on top of Dunk's foot his body would naturally fall backwards. As that started to happen he decided to theatrically fling himself to the ground.

Not sure about that.

Post game, he came out with some rambling nonsense that Dunks tackle (or what we now know was a block) was out of control. Therefore, it was not his players fault for stamping on him.

Yes, he said the tackle was out of control but he did not say that Dunk caught DCL and that it was a penalty. He was trying to justify his position without appearing to be even more biassed by claiming Dunk committed a foul.
