One player who wasn’t playing against his former teammates was Shim Mheuka, who we sold to Chelsea for a reported seven figures when he was 14.
Now 16, he’s been playing up in the 18s, but yesterday made his PL2 debut for Chelsea’s under 21s.
Yup, 42 players in their first team and yet one of the next cabs off the rank is a 16 year old guy we sold for between 1 and 4 million depending on his career progression.
Don’t forget to add that on when counting how much Chelsea have given us (and another 900k for Zak Sturge).
