I'm guessing he's not exactly on minimum wage at the moment - how much money does one person NEED? I think I would rather stick around in Madrid and try and become a club legend there, rather than go and join the sand-botherers and watch my career dwindle.

It's a question I've often thought about. I'm really happy in my job and if I was offered another at a 50% pay rise I would have to be sure it would be as enjoyable as the one I have now. And I am certainly not made for life as he must be already.
I don't know why anyone who has everything they need forever would want it.

Tell me something that you'd really want to buy, that a top footballer couldn't afford? Life is short. If I had $1.2 billion dollars, I'd pay $1 billion of it to avoid a 5 year prison sentence.

I’m always astounded when I try to comprehend how much richer a billionaire is than a millionaire. Sure, 1 billion is 1,000 times 1 million, but what does that actually look like in reality?
To help me contextualise, I think about how long it would take to count to a million, compared to how long it would take to count to a billion. If I were to count 1 per second, it would take me around 11 and a half days to count to 1 million (1m / 60 / 60 / 24). Assuming I didn’t need to sleep and I had the willpower!

I still don't think I would do it. But it's at the point where I might, if I could wear rainbow laces and take my boyfriend with me.
It sounds a lot but it’s only 777,600,000 UK pounds.

I fell into that trap 3 years ago. Moved to a rival company for just £10K a year more and a half hour shorter commute.
Serves me right but the company I moved to were chuffing awful to work for and I hated it. Fortunately I hadn’t burnt any bridges at my original company and after a year with the shitty new lot, I went back where I came from.
Grass, greener and all that.
I re-read "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" yesterday and in the chapter about when he became a billionaire, you can see its about eight barrels. I'm sure Don Rosa did his research so I'm going with that.
Doesn’t mean you made the wrong choice. How were you to know? It could have been amazing and given you a better quality of life. You did the right thing in going for it. And an even better thing in realising your mistake and going back.
