just buy a Webber, expensive upfront but considering how long they last they work out cheap in the end.

First find out what they want it for - ie, a few burgers in the summer, more regular use, or for more interesting cooking (smoking etc, or even pizzas). Then work out what they're willing to pay for that. Then choose the right bbq. Then find out where to get it from.
