Probably gonna get a lot of shit for this but here goes.
Palace's fate looks pretty grim at the moment. They're asking for fans of rival clubs to email politicians to put pressure on the bank that owns Selhurst Park to settle a clause in the agreement of sale.
Some of their fans helped the Albion in our darkest days. Maybe it's time we did a little bit for them, even if it is too little too late.
They have provided a list of email addresses on their board:
camerond@parliament.uk
cleggn@parliament.uk
osborneg@parliament.uk
info@vincentcable.org.uk
huntj@parliament.uk
And here's an email that can be cut / pasted /adapted. A bit sickly so suggest you don't read it!
I am writing to you to highlight the plight of Crystal Palace Football Club.
I am in fact a Brighton and Hove Albion fan – bitter rivals of CPFC. However, as football fans we stand side by side when a club’s very survival is at risk.
As I understand the story (as an outsider), CPFC have a consortium which is prepared to buy the club on the condition they can also buy the stadium. The stadium is currently under the control of Lloyds Bank who understandably wish to protect the value of their investment in the stadium while allowing the venue to remain in use as a football stadium and not sold for profit to developers. The one sticking point – an embarrassment clause – seems to be preventing the sale progressing. This one snag seems relatively minor and it is here where I hope you may be able to help.
Time is of the essence here because CPFC face a winding up order by Agilo, an aggressive financial organisation, if they are unable to conclude the sale of the club and stadium by 3pm on 1st June. Since Lloyd’s Bank is now at least partly under Government control, your help in solving the final snag revolving around the ‘embarrassment clause’ would be appreciated by many thousands of Crystal Palace fans and their families.
A football club is at the heart of any community and as a fan of a club which has in the past suffered the possibility of extinction, I understand more than most the damage that could be done to the community if the club is lost.
I urge you to speak to the relevant people as soon as possible and help save a club steeped in 100 years of history.

now for the onslaught of abuse
Think I might stay away from NSC for a while!
