I used to love the Goldstone Ground. One of the best things about it was that you could exit it quickly and get away.

The current situation at the Amex is problematic.
Goldstone Ground only ever had more people there about 15 times than the Amex does every week and you could park anywhere and a longer walk to the large station broke the crowds up. You can't compare the two

My father is disabled traveler, has the wrist band etc. Are you saying that when I take him and my son I leave my 11 year old to queue standard?
He is saying you wait in the queue and your son goes with your father.

As someone who works with people with disabilities, it never ceases to shock me how often they or the people supporting them, are cited as a problem in some context or another.
I often wonder how such people would manage if their life, or that of someone close to them, suddenly changed in such a way. At the very least it would be a much needed reality check.

No hold on, then he will eat the chicken feed. You need to take the chicken across first then come back, take the dog or the feed next and the key is to come back with the chicken. I think that is it.

Withdean crowds were no where as big as the goldstone , there were loads of places to park , easy to get buses, mainline railway 10 min walk , easy access by feet , lots of bigger crowds than the Amex , but never a problem to get away , being in the centre of hove helped
There weren't lots of crowds bigger than the Amex - our average gate in the old 1st division was 24,000 (and that was in the first season, the others were lower) and while historically they were bigger at the Goldstone - that didn't remain the case; our crowds in the last season at the Goldstone were 5,844 compared to 7,311 at Withdean's last season.

And I'm not sure why a station 10 minutes away is easier for a transport than one 2 minutes away.

I'd also question whether it's easy to park around there: maybe 40 years ago, when car ownership was considerably lower, but I spend most Sundays at Hove rugby club and I can tell you that it's not easy finding parking spaces for 200 players and their families. I don't think the system could cope with 20,000 spectators - traffic would be at standstill.

It's easy to look back with rose-tinted glasses at the Goldstone. It was our ground and we loved it but it was not a stadium that could have coped with Premier League football and Premier League crowds: we're in a better place now

One of the quickest fixes they could do is change the sequence of traffic lights after the game at the Bridge car park. They do this at Villa, a man stands by the box that controls the lights and does it manually to help the flow of traffic. Seems like a no brainer to me.

They could also do this at the Woodingdean traffic lights also , on Saturday, took over half an our to get through the traffic lights ,

think he's saying some people take liberties, with larger groups helping them along the disabled route.

Best thing people can do is email the club, supporter services, Paul Barber, or the FAB to highlight the travel issues. It may not help, but we should keep the pressure on the club to improve things, and certainly nothing happens if we keep chat to threads like this.

And that’s why it will never happen at the Albion. Been saying same since 2011. Club and council not interested.

I’m afraid the choices miss the simplest and most effective solution: ensure there are seven or eight carriage trains on all lines through Falmer. When they do that (like at weekends) the station drains so readily. When they don’t (weekday evening games when there is not enough rolling stock) it’s a nightmare. Get the club to encourage Southern to invest in more rolling stock.

As a secondary measure, force everyone on the east platform to get on the next train (guns might be used) and sort themselves out in slow time at Lewes. That’d stop the absurdity of frustrated people locked on the ramps watching trains depart half-full.

As a tertiary measure, allow disabled travellers to take just one friend down the disabled route, allowing them to sit on the seats on the platform and wait for their other friends to descend with everyone else.
i imagine you havent many friends ?----your in the leon Knight club for hatred of the disabled

Bring back the bendy buses. B&H Buses claiming it's because they can't get the parts is a ridiculous excuse - somehow they keep bendy buses running in Geneva, France and Italy and probably many other European countries.

Someone recently said loads of specific bendy buses from point a to point b. I.e pool valley to the stadium and back. Just on a constant loop.

Wasn’t their removal to do with how polluting they were, and councils were pushing for more environmentally friendly buses to be used in the city?
