I've only heard it once but it was ok for a first impression. I think it's a tall order for it to replace the original because for most of us it is tied to our entire albion supporting history and as such holds a lot of memories and emotions. As an occasional listen it would be ok but keep playing it to plug it for A&K. The more people hear it the more attached they'll get.

Sounds a bit weak over the Withdean PA. But then, doesn't everything? The Ska arrangement works surprisingly well but it would be better - and more atmospheric - if slowed down a bit.

Despite all that, my copies are now on order!

Fantastic effort Atilla. Don't know why people are comparing it to the old one, you could have never replaced it and you wouldn't have wanted to.

I think it stands up on its own...

I'm a traditional boring old bastard, so I don't like the new one at all. The original can never be surpassed - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I am intimidated by change.

Because it's a remake of the old one. Unless you have never heard it you can't help but make comparrisons.

exactly - but if you're gonna have a go you might as well try something different.

I like having the traditional version at the start of the each half and the new one at the end.

Bit like Jim'll Fix it - which of course had 2 classic theme tunes.

Have I missed the point here ? The original version was NEVER under threat.

I don't think it was but I get the impression that some people think it was.

I'll have to take your word for that :)

Theme One

"Jim'll Fix It, Jim'll Fit It, Jim' Fix It.." etc....

Theme Two (end of show)

Jim will fix it for you, and you and you and you and bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah, bah" etc.....

So we are not in a unique situation here.

The BBC managed it in the 70s and 80s.

I prefer the new one - otherwise, I just keep looking for the Pathe Newsreel subtitles and imagine the team running out in black-and-white and wearing longjohns.

But if thats the case then they had two themes from the beginning so thats what everyone knew. We've had one theme for years and now we've got a new one that no ones used to.

It seems to be better to me. I will need to hear a couple of hundred times to be sure.
