‘His Excellency, President for Life Field Marshall Al Hadj Doctor Idi Amin Dada, VC, DSO, MC. Lord of all the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Sea and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in Particular’

An absolute lunatic.

He had a sense of humour too. When he got bored of his wife kay he had her surgically dismembered
and the limbs sewn back on in the wrong places. Utter Madness.

He was a big fan of the 'Lump Hammer Game', where he'd stick prisoners in two cells next to each other 1 to a cell and give the bloke in the first cell a lump hammer and say 'if you want to live, go to the next cell and cave the other chaps head in' The first prisoners then occupies the second cell and they'd fill the first cell with new prisoner and start all over again.

Proper Dictator, absolute head case.

Who is your favourite, as in who does the term 'dictator' justice.

Has there ever been a sane one??

There was also a fella in Turkmenistan, forgot his name though.

He cancelled all pensions and made pensioners pay back the last 2 years worth.

Only 5 years ago aswell.

Proper loony behaviour:lolol::lolol:

Gaddaffi liked to FART when being interviewed.

And Saddam had his national football team tortured after another inept display - I think we can all relate to that. If only Call Me Dave had the STONES to do the same thing.

Kim Jong-il for me. He (or his dad) once kidnapped a Japanese film director that he liked just to make movies for him, as you do.

And I love this website dedicated to photos of him looking at things kim jong-il looking at things

I think he called himself Turkmenbashi, which meant something like Ruler Of The Turkmen.

Hugo Chavez is worth a shout, purely for putting the time in Venezuela back by 30 minutes so that it has its own Time Zone. Whats the point of being a dictator if you don't do random stuff like that....

Turkmenbashi FACTS:

Niyazov (his real name) introduced the practice of "Melon Day," a harvest festival celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of August; unlike some of his other creations, the celebration of "Melon Day" has continued after his death.

Niyazov banished dogs from the capital Ashgabat because of their "unappealing odour."

He outlawed opera, ballet, and the circus in 2001.

In February 2004 he decreed that men should no longer wear long hair or beards.

He banned news reporters and anchors from wearing make-up on television, apparently because he believed Turkmen women were already beautiful enough without make-up.

Gold teeth were outlawed in Turkmenistan after Niyazov suggested that the populace chew on bones to strengthen their teeth and lessen the rate at which they fall out. He said:
"I watched young dogs when I was young. They were given bones to gnaw to strengthen their teeth. Those of you whose teeth have fallen out did not chew on bones. This is my advice"

The month of September was renamed Ruhnama in honour of the book written by Niyazov (which he finished writing on 19 September 2001).

Stalin-sure he was messed up and he killed a lot of people but really he was a fun guy!!

When he was bored during a kremlin meeting he just walked round to this bald fella and poured the contents of his pipe he'd been smoking on this man's shiny bonce.

Also shot his parrot for no reason as well, and of course he is uncredited as the inspiration behind Super Mario

Enver Hoxha. The man who turned Albania from being a backward, rural little country into being a glorious and scientifically-correct model of the ideal Socialist state. He had no time for revisionist scum like the Soviets and the Chinese (falling out with both countries) but instead single-handedly he led the Albanian people into a glorious peoples' republic and onto the sunlit uplands of Socialist freedom and economic prosperity.
