But i agree the guy is a complete ****

What happened to democracy and freedom of choice? No-one is going to force him to go so het should let the adult residents of Worthing make their own mind up :tosser:

Yeah I do agree, a lap dancing night in my area would not offend me. Quite the opposite in fact :p

However willing a person to die is a bit OTT

I thought the police response was mildly amusing.

He sounded like someone who was more likely to book the venue for a leaving-do, than try and close it down.

If you saw the hijacking of the rememberance day parade and ceremony you would think different.

People like that don't deserve to have any kind of life when we have kids dying of cancer etc!

"There will be men coming out of the club who are sexually aroused and intoxicated. Women will be in direct danger from them."

I'm no doctor, but I was under the impression that for the males of the species, sexual arousal and alcohol intoxication tend to be mutually exclusive?

ie the spirit is willing but the body unable?

This bloke is hilarious anyway, they tried to open a sex shop in Worthing and he was complaining it would lead to sexual depravity and rape.

Anyone on here living in Surrey Street, Brighton, care to advise whether the rate of sexual offences committed there is any worse for having two sex shops in the street?

So in your strange view of democracy and freedom of choice, he isn't allowed to express his opinion? Weird. . .

Opinion YES did i say he wasn't? I just think the guy has serious mental health issues and should be looked at! As a veteren himself hijacking a rememberance service for his own personal anti-porn battle is way beyond belief I nearly died and was glad the police removed him before he was lynced.

Why should i be told by an 89 yr old man who obviously has no interest in women any more that i can't have a licensed porn shop or go to see strippers?

Especially one with little respect for the dead like him.

If Heaven is where people like him are supposed to end up then burning in Hell seems like a decent option.

Veteran anti-porn campaigner Steve Stevens, 89, said Worthing will be eternally damned if it allows the Liquid Lounge nightclub to put on the nude and semi-nude shows.

I wonder if Steve Stevens is his pornstar name? ???

Steve Stevens has a small but very vocal band of followers who support his crusade to rescue the morals of the town. He has been on the same bandwagon for many years and was one of those responsible for the closure of Private Shop when it was opened near the station many years ago.

Much as I disagree with his views, I could understand his objection to the sex shop as it was not far from his home. If you have strong beliefs then it is fair enough to object to something that conflicts with these being installed on your doorstep. If someone tried to open a Palace shop in my road I would object:D

However, he is on the other side of the town centre to the lap dancing club so it is not something that would directly affect him. The incident at the remembrance service has lost him a lot of respect and support from those who had previously been on his side so he might find this battle much harder to win.
