dunno I'm lost
The blokes been dead for thirty years and people are STILL crying over him!!

Personally I think he was fat gobshite that didn't have that much talent.

He couldn't act to save his life, okay he could sing a bit but nothing special.

A mediocre entertainer yes, but so is Bobby Davro.

Just don't get it at all

Way out west
I remember the day that Elvis died, I was on holiday with my grandfolks in Ireland...have to say that it didn't mean that much to me, but my grandpa said that he was all shook up!

no Elvis...no Nick Cave.

And life would be unbearable without Nick Cave in the world.

Just watching an Elvis western on BBC2. I never knew that brill-creamed quiffs were all the rage in the old wild west!

The thing about Elvis - and I know all wont agree because this is NSC and opinions mean f*ck all - is that for every mood you could be in, there is likely to be an Elvis song that fits the bill and either makes you feel better or empathises with your mood

I find myself in absolute total agreement with you Sir. On hols in Lanzagrote last year, we had the misfortune to stumble into a bar where an Elvis impersonator was performing. There were 50 year old women inside, bawling their eyes out, crying Elvis, Elvis whilst he was singing.

You're spot on there Jam! For me it's either:

"When The Swallows Come Back To Capistrano" or

"Alla En El Rancho Grande"

Always sum up my mood perfectly when I pop those two on, failing that it'll be "White Christmas"

To be fair you don't get to be as big as he is/was without having "something".

I like a few of his, American Trilogy is wicked for a late night drunken karaoke session .

He could sing, dance, play instruments, write music.

Todays "popular music" musicians can't even do ANY of those...

Plus Maries the Name (His Latest Flame) is probably one of the best tracks ever.
