Hard pressed to vote for any of the useless gits.

Is it true that the UKIP are, in fact, pressing for 51st state status for the UK ?

Absolute rubbish .... dreamt up any the Pro Euro lot to discredit the party. The main aim of the UKIP is withdrawl of the UK from the EU.

Green for Euro election as Proportional Representation. Wouldn't vote for them as a Government as they haven't got a clue about the Economy etc, but in a European context it is useful to have a few MEPs acting as a pressure group to encourage countries to stop pumping out shite without a second thought for the damage it will do.

This will become increasingly important when welcoming our Eastern European friends in to the fold. (May also stop the French setting fire to everything in sightwhenever they feel a sulk coming on!)

From the UKIP website:

"The Economy
Free Trade and Globalisation
Our relationship with the United States remains unique...
When Britain leaves the EU, we need not fear ...
Outside the EU, we can build strong trading relationships with the rest of the world, including Commonwealth countries and the North American Free Trade Area

Withdrawal from the EU will mean that our defence procurement policy is no longer dictated by a commitment to EU integration. ...Freed from these EU projects, we shall be able to purchase equivalent technology from the US..."

Blah..."de-regulation"...blah..."reduce tax burden on business"...blah

Of course, they're not pushing a US agenda at all...

BNP for me.

I assume I'm missing some irony, here. If not would you care to put forward the case for National Socialism ?

If we have to be part of a federalist structure I'd much rather be in the USA than the USE. We have far more in common with them than we do our European enemies, er, allies. Ask people, even pro-Europeans what was the last 'foreign' film they saw and they'll think of something with sub-titles on Channel 4. No one will say, Matrix, Terminator or whatever because they're not 'foreign' are they?

That'll be the USA that is unable to meet the Human Rights standard required for EU entry, has minimal welfare provision, over 2 million citizens in it's prisions, minimal employee rights, etc, etc.

I have actually got plently of criticisms of the EU and the way it is currently run and major reservations about the Euro but given a choice between the european social model and what Eisenhower termed the military-industrial complex of the US, then pass me the French wine, German Car, Italian clothes, Spanish food and Greek Sunshine any day !
