I used to have to travel right across the Lake District to get to college each day. The scenery made the 3 hours of sitting on the bus each day a bit more bearable! I've had a couple of decent days in Keswick, with the pitch and putt place in the second picture always a fun time filler in the event of not fancying walking up a hill or rowing round Derwent Water!

I've been very lucky, it's been sunny every time i've been (6 or 7 times)... but always pisses it down when I go to north wales.

Not strictly true... Nowhere else has such a variety of geology and therefore scenery, in such a small area, except perhaps for the Isle of Skye, which is beautiful. But the lake district has loads of lovely little pubs selling decent real ale (Jennings) too.

all very nice and quaint, here's a snap from new years eve a few years ago in the new world (you need to scroll across to see the full picture - fireworks and lightning, on the beach with a cold tinnie, nice....).
On the downside, I don't get to see The Albion any more...
