Nearest beach for me is Barmouth in mid-Wales - when the tide goes out, its like Camber Sands, you have to walk fecking miles to get up to your knees wet.

2 hour drive makes it a bit of a trek mind.

and most places in Cornwall. I'll be spending Christmas and New Year at Mullion Cove on the Lizard.

Also anywhere North of Oban in Scotland with Lochinver a particular favourite.

Parkin Estates really look after the beach down there. All the huts get taken off the beach at the end of the season and are kept in a warehouse over the winter, given a lick of paint and new bits and pieces for the inside.

Great place to go, especially with the children

No,nit picking please.just name where you like to go,on the coast.:albion: For me Anglesey Cemaes Bay.

Cemaes is nice (about 10 miles from where I'm from) but if you want a real beach try Newborough on the south of Anglesey, views of Snowdonia, surfing waves, miles of sand, an 'island' that has a windmill and plenty of hidden coves.
