The one I remember got particularly nasty was about abortion. I'm not going to embarrass anyone as its all old news, but I did resolve that day never to get involved in an argument on that topic ever again.

Everyone knows where they stand, it's an emotional subject, very strongly held beliefs and no one is going to change their mind. Very difficult without it getting personal, and who needs that frankly...
