What do you need to make a podcast?

We are thinking of doing podcasts to put on our cricket club website, but have no idea where to start, any help appreciated.

Cheers TGC, I did google it, but simply ended up with loads of cockjugglers trying to flog software, which may or may not be of assistance

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ is where you can get a decent bit of sound editing software for nowt.

Then you need a microphone: if you're just going to talk into your PC then one from Dixons will do the trick. If you want to record sound on location I'd advise getting one like this

And portable minidisc recorders are good quality and easy to use. Sadly, they're falling out of production. Get one on Ebay.
