Proflex 957 Mountain Bike. The forks are now Rockshox Judy SL as I cracked the carbon fibre Proflex forks in a big crash on a decent called the 'Widow Maker'.

I also own a custom build road bike.

Mental Note: I must get out on the bikes more and lose some weight.

I refer you to my earlier posting.

Richmond Cycles custom build in 1986 - when mountain bikes were relatively new to this country. A sort of hybrid mountain/town bike. Weighs a ton, but all the bits are (or rather were) quality and it has survived a few bumps. Painted in British Racing Green with my name on it. I love that bike.

Not much use for mountain biking etc.

I lurrrrve my Ridgeback but I wouldn't recommend the standard tyres for it - I get too many punctures and in any case most of my cycling is road cycling.

If you're likely to cycle off and on road, then a hybrid is definietly the way forward.

I use a 1996 stylee Saracen Powertrax (basic mountain bike with no useless suspension .)

used too have two of these one for me one for my son but he left mine outside a shop with no lock on it, surprisingly it got nicked.

The stolen one was replaced by a Claude Butler (I have a thing about buying British) which has full suspension.

Don't like the thing and its spent most of its time clamped too the wall in the garage.

As too buying at the moment most of those I have seen look uncomfortable, no chance of using bar ends on the bars, which, as I prefer up hill too anything else, are essential too me.

On NSC for over two decades...
I have a couple of old skool bikes (ie. bought in the 80's and 90's and never replaced 'cos they're perfectly serviceable..., well the mountain bike is!).

A Holdsworth Ultima mountain bike - weighs a tonne, probably due the 21 inch Reynolds 500 frame!!

A Raleigh Nightburner BMX - needs new rims because both the front and back ones are cracked from many years of hacking around the woods when I was a kid.
