Well it might be plus 2 c tonight on Planet Gareth but here in the BN1 postal district it's somewhat chillier. And as the big chill has been put back 48 hours by the Met Office, it only makes you even more of a sure thing to lose your twenty quid. Be afraid, be very afraid...

I woke up this morning to find it difficult to open the front door because of the snow drifts outside !.

It was plus 2c minimum last night and up to plus 5 c today and will stay above freezing tonight.

Still waiting Tom ?.

The temperatures are much warmer than they predicted. Plus 5c today and plus 1c minimum tonight. Basically the Met Office have f***ed up and are looking rather silly now after such ridiculous scare mongering of a big freeze and - 15c by night and -7 c by day.

The snow if there is any will be confined to hills and mountains in Scotalnd and the North.

Down here the weather has been the best it has been all winter with sunny weather and dry and not very cold.

Turn on BBC1 if you are near a tv. The weather girl is in Pickering (near York) not hilly there - that is the Vale of York, not high above sea level. The snow is coming down and laying.
There has already been a major coach crash near Driffield this morning with fatalities.

The sky is very clear here too. It usually is when there is a high pressure area but the winds are starting to come in from the north.

I'll keep you posted from Huddersfield

A few flakes of snow and a dusting on the ground !. We were told too expect arctic temps of -15c and heavy snow up to 6 inches. The bottom line is the Met Office fecked up big time and are trying to save their embarrassment by filming in Yorkshire with a few flakes falling !.

Give it time, give it time

(btw the crash they have blamed on icy roads not snow)

Too far from the sun
Gareth's weather forecasting appears to be better than his racehorse selection if you look at the 5 day forecast for Shoreham http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?world=4899&links there is no evidence of a 'big freeze'. Ever since the Michael Fish 'no hurricane' incident the BBC and Met Office have repeatedly overplayed any impending bad weather. The 'violent storms' of a couple of weeks ago and now this being just two recent examples.

Shame we ain't got a match at Withdean tonight Gareth, then we could all bask in this unseasonably mild spell. On the other hand Gareth, one could advise you to wear a woolly hat as 70% of your grasp on reality appears to be escaping out the top of your head... :D
