Watching Olympic Opening Ceremony

We are away in the Canaries at the moment and I had hoped our villa would have at least one tv channel showing the opening ceremony on Friday evening even if in a different language. But it appears we only have a very very ltd range of channels via the sky box. I don't fancy sitting for hours in a crowded bar so any other ideas? I have a laptop and a decent wifi connection so can I stream something or can I manually find another channel on the sky system.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the ideas but catchup doesn't appear to work outside of the UK and the TV here doesn't have Eurosport (I thought every sat system could get Eurosport but it appears not). Any more....

never used it but you could try this its only a couple of quid for a week
TV When Away

Looks interesting. Can't see if they show live BBC1 but have emailed them to ask - many thanks. Is there any question NSC cannot answer (other than the identity of our new midfielder and striker?)

I pity the poor sod who has to commentate on this.

Film On..Live is an app that works on an ipad abroad and gets all the normal UK channels. No idea if you can use it on a laptop though

Will I Am will of course pop up somewhere as will John Terry when they light the flame.

I'm #savingthesuprise but it's amazing! Well worth watching.

I should have added, I hope it's not cringeworthy, but I don't have high hopes, but we'll see. Unless the Queen bursts out of a giant Terrys Chocolate orange on a unicycle, I can't see it can be that amazing.
