BAKER BANNED OVER TICKETS SALE

Aston Villa's teenage defender Nathan Baker has been banned from attending the Carling Cup final after trying to sell tickets for the February 28 clash with Manchester United on Facebook.

Baker, an England Under-19 player, has had his allocation of tickets for the meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson's side taken away from him by the club.

The central defender is reported to have been trying to sell his five tickets at £200 apiece.

A club spokesman said: "The club is saddened that Nathan has been so foolish.

"All of the players were made aware that tickets for the Carling Cup final are available for their own use only and, following this incident, the message has been repeated to them.

"Nathan's actions were naive and he is extremely embarrassed and regretful at having let himself down at the club and the Aston Villa fans.

"It shouldn't be forgotten, however, that Nathan is just 18 years old and he has a lot to learn."

Utter cock.

The world at his feet and then tries to make a bit on the side.

What is wrong with these players ?

Villa have done the right thing.

Total greed however bearing in mind his age and the fact he is skivy to players on salaries probably 50 times his you can see the temptation.

The lad doesn't have the world at his feet yet - he's on loan at Lincoln and there's no guarantees that he'll make a living in football. How many young players at Premier league clubs end up in non-league? Hundreds.

It was a silly thing to do but he was only trying to make a few quid for himself. The stories this week of his fellow professional John Terry and what he's done with his money pale into insignificance.

I'm sure he'll learn from his mistake.
