I went to Woolworths at lunchtime. It is Secret Santa day tomorrow, so i visited that cheapskate's store for a bargain. I was due to be on the phones at 1pm for an afternoon shift of foreign voiced questions and inner confusion and my own jumbled answers said with vinegary riddle.
I made it back about 1.15 because Woolworths is the best shop in the world. I bought:
Transformers: The Movie and
a Nikolai Volkoff doll (the man on the right)
I wish i had a thousand pounds to go in there and spend the lot, either dressed as a boy or angry dad or a razzled uncle. Whatever i came out of that shop with would be a momentary dream. Yes it would break like an old man's leg in short time, but still an immensely heavy, lifeless thing to store with character and magic.
I like Woolworths. Do you?
