Personally I think Barney realised his reign as #1 (in a Mikey Mouse Worthington Cup type way) was over and so has decided to go for the money.

I was once told by 'someone in the know', their words not mine, at the Lakeside that it is widely expected that when BDO supremo Olly Croft goes to the great oche in the sky the two bodies will merge within 5 years, however the same person also stated that a number of people in both the PDC and the BDO were worried about Barry Hearn's influence on the sport.
Barry is out for Barry, whether its darts, snooker, boxing or Leyton Orient.
