Brighton have joined the list of clubs weighing up a £25million bid for Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams.

Aston Villa, Everton and Nottingham Forest have all enquired for the 24-year-old amid rumours the USA international has a relegation release clause. However, Brighton who are braced to lose Moises Caicedo are looking at midfield options.

If we want someone to make tackles and blocks in CM he is the man IMHO. His stats were outrageous last season. Would have far eclipsed Moises had he played as many games.

The lad can get around the park well and tackle well, but is nowhere near as cute on the ball as Moises.

He didn't obviously look out of place in a terrible Leeds side.

I'm not overly enthused

Given how many options we've got, for me he is someone who'd play in very specific games. We have plenty of players who excel on the ball, especially with Dahoud joining. Might be very hard to find a Moises MK2 so a lot easier to find a relatively cheap destroyer who can play when needed. He was the player that covered the most ground in the group stages of the WC and had a passing success rate of 90% during the competition, much better than at Leeds.
He's not a mug on the ball by any means.

I think I’d be happy with him.

That said, we only need a player with his skill set against the elite teams. I think Gilmour, Dahoud and Groß can run midfield against at least 65% of our opponents.

@bozza Unless I’m going mad, you have changed your username to not the a capital b at the start - why?! Something which annoys me about my own account I made without realising what a username was etc back in the day… but I’m sure yours was always ‘Bozza’ - if I’m correct I’m a genius and am owed some Amazon vouchers or something - if I’m wrong ignore me…

Not a mug. And playing for a relegated team clearly doesn't make you a bad player. But to me the stat the matter is the Leeds goals against column and the fact that he was the main defensive midfielder in that side who were continually exposed at the back makes me a little edgy.

If he comes, then welcome to the fella, but i'm happy enough for Everton or Villa to have him

IIRC those Premier League stats (tackles, tackles won etc) are based on total figures rather than a %. He missed 14 games so likely he would have topped all.

Hmmm far from convinced, yes he may have shone last season, but it wouldn't have taken much to impress in what was, frankly, a pretty awful Leeds side.

He can’t replace Caicedo but the squad will desperately need a defensive midfield specialist to break-up play when we play the very elite sides.

I believe that this chap has what it takes to do the job RDZ requires. He’d surely play a lot less than Caicedo did (Groß, Dahoud & Gilmour will dominate midfield selection) but we’ll need a destroyer protecting our back two. The stats indicate he could do a job. Especially if there is a release cause and we can get him for a lot less than the likes of Haidara and Lavia.

He has changed his little motto too. It used to be 'all powerful moderator'. Mid life crisis in reverse? Next he'll be driving around in a modest family suv.
