Reminds me of the Edgar Davids signing

Davids was very bitter about his time at Palace apparently. He was supposed to be signing for Exeter City but took a wrong turn on the motorway because he wasn't wearing his goggles and ended up at Selhurst. When the penny dropped that he was playing for some small home counties team with a decrepit stadium rather than Exeter City he retired from football for good after six games such was his disillusionment with the whole thing.
