F.I.F.A Have insisted that all English clubs abide by the transfer window from next season.
With our small squad the abillity to bring in a loan player when we have injuries, like our present goalkeeping position will be gone. Does this mean we will have to operate with a larger squad.

Football league adopts transfer window

The Football League has agreed to come into line with The Premiershite and adopt the transfer window, for the summer and January.

This could be bad news for clubs such as the Albion who find themselves skint during the season and are unable to sell players to raise funds.

Thanks to FIFA, there will be more clubs going into administration as a result.

Why would the Football League agree to come into line? FIFA may not be aware/care about lower divisions in England, the FA are and should.

We have 1st hand experience of the attitude of the the FA to clubs outside the Premiership, seems nothings changed

FIFA were threatening to take the league to court. There is a danger that, if the league did not comply, a player might take his club to court on the grounds that he wants to move and the club is holding out for a fee, and the courts might rule that the whole transfer system is illegal and players could move willy-nilly from club to club throughout the season

It may also drive up prices for players because clubs will be forced compete with each other within a limited time frame to sign a player in the same market. This obviously would be more bad news for Football League clubs, especially as many clubs are beginning to sort themselves out financially after the collapse of ITV Digital.

Depends on the finances of the club. If it known that a club is struggling financially in, say, October, then by January they are likely to accept a derisory offer to fend off their creditors.

No transfer window is not necessarily a bad thing though. We wont lose our talented young players in the window.
Everyone will be in the same boat, albeit the top clubs will have the bigger squads.

In reality for the albion the inevitable bigger squad will mean more young academy players getting a chance (presumably on YTS level wages) which has served us pretty well over the last two seasons.

I think its actually the post Premiership club who will suffer when they find themselves in the wrong half of the table at Christmas.

all over the place
its something that MAY level out SOME playing fields

but lets have a think about it -

if it were this season -

Cullip and Currie would have still been here and we wouldn;t have got McCammon so early (ok i know he;s not everyones favourite - but his arrival HAS meant that we have done alot better).

In our position - thats pretty bad.

Do they have any special terms for goalkeepers?. Looking at our own situation Both MK and BR have had lengthy lay offs the last two seasons. What exactly would the situation be if we lost both exactly ads we have done know?.

Finances aside though, this will stop the richer clubs who might be struggling a bit just buying players to improve form, therefore creating a more level playing field and exposing the skills, or lack of them, of a manager.

Remember when Mark Beeney was sold to pay a tax bill, if we had had a transfer window then we would have been out of business
