Slash only came up with the intro taking the piss in the studio, and never meant for it to be used. He has always says he hated it, but is a top one.

Mine in no specific order are
1 - Money for Nothing - Dire Straights
2 - One Step Beyond - Madness
3 - When I come Around or Good Ridance (Time of Your Life) - Green Day
4 - Beetlebum - Blur (especially at gigs)
5 - You Could Be Mine - Guns 'n' Roses

Is that the Dubliners version your talking about? Or Thin Lizzy?

And yes I am too young to remember.
