Brighton factually.....
I would only say the Princess Louise is worth a vist, before going into town. At the weekend full of Indie boys and girls.

My Top 3

Quinns (Kentish Town)
Elephants Head (Camden Town)
Big Red (Islington)

noel gallager used to drink in the steele many years ago and the barman was some minor eastenders character when i had a brief spell of using it.

really wasnt all that.

as for being hard to imagine a london without pubs he must be missing the hundreds boarded up or converted into flats over the last few years.

I walk past the Lamb every day, a few years since I've been in there though. Looks pretty busy, especially when the weathers good. Used to work 100 yards from the Peacock and been in there quite a bit too. The Hung Drawn & quartered seemed like rather a souless place, but only been there once - I've spotted it quite often on TV.

Depends what you're looking for really...

Vibrancy and good old blues can't beat the Blues Kitchen in Camden High Street
Friendly old style with a welcome, Old Ale Emporium in Harringey Green Lanes
Bit of history (but can't remember its name) an old monks place in Blackfriars near the Thames
Behind Charing Cross Road and on the way to Covent Garden can take your pick of about 4-6 decent hostelries
Where I work in EC1, again a fair few decent pubs.

I work round the corner from the princess louise, its bloody cheap in there.

I used to as well.

I've also been to the Greenwich Union.

My favourite London boozers: The Cask Pub and Grill, Pimlico. The Griffin, Shoreditch/Hoxton.

Griffin is a good shout. Even been down The Reliance in Shoreditch? That's alright for a couple. Good selection.
