Tonights match was actually ABANDONED...

The Sportsman kiddies play area tonight. 7.00pm. 3rd Stella on the way down the pipes. Idly chatting with some chums. Wondering whether to have a go on the slide. Suddenly Withdean tannoy cranks into life:

"Attention please. Attention please. The match has been abandoned and will NOT be restarted. Repeat, the match has been abandoned and will NOT be restarted. Will everyone please make their way towards the exits now".

A few bemused glances were exchanged. A cursory glance over the shoulder at the pitch to see if a stray Israeli rocket had found its way into the centre circle. Perhaps there had been a tragedy in the dressing room ? Maybe CKR had broken a nail, or Bob Booker had done a major FLOUNCE after Wendy gave out the training bibs. Just as we drew breath to discuss the potential reasons for this abandonment, a reassuring message came across:

"Test run complete, test run complete. Thank you everyone."

Could've warned us couldn't they ?

They didn't even start up properly till 7.30. And then we didn't get GOSBTS at the final whistle DESPITE our crushing victory.
